ORBIZ Aeschengraben
Basel, Switzerland
The client operates a centrally located coworking space that spans an entire floor of a renovated building, having transformed the former individual offices into a contemporary, flexible work landscape. The aim was to make both the closed-off areas and the open spaces bright and friendly, while also ensuring that the layout accommodates as many different needs as possible.
Today, the choice of coworking options in urban areas is so extensive that individual providers seek to differentiate themselves through distinctive and inspiring interiors. To be able to achieve such an environment at Orbiz, Vitra's Consulting & Planning Studio (CPS) was commissioned to plan and implement the spaces and their furnishings.
The result is a setting that meets exacting requirements in terms of ergonomic comfort and interior design. It includes workshop areas, private retreats, a library, a café zone, various meeting rooms, project workspaces and other work zones in open and closed environments. The different areas are designed in an understated aesthetic to ensure longevity, and the interplay of carpets, curtains, accessories and colours creates a welcoming atmosphere. The choice of robust furnishings from Vitra and Artek also contributes toward Orbiz's sustainability goals.
