Studio Office
Vitra Headquarters, Birsfelden
In 2015 Sevil Peach implemented another office concept entitled Studio Office at the Vitra Center, the company headquarters designed in 1994 by Frank Gehry. The goal of the project was to create a studio atmosphere that reflects Vitra’s creative spirit.
The open space of the Studio Office is divided into five neighbourhoods – studios. The daily allocation of space within the studios occurs spontaneously. The principle of a static workplace is therefore replaced by a flexible, non-territorial and varied working environment. The heart of the office is the Business Club with a library and a large table that can seat several groups. This core area is surrounded by boxes that function as individual retreats and meeting rooms. The overall spatial structure strengthens communication between the employees – and with the management, which is also located in the open landscape. The desks are available for use by everyone as well as for informal meetings. The basic concept of this working environment endures, successfully meeting the challenges of the pandemic and beyond.
