The ‘New Folk’ scene is inspired by contemporary arts and crafts movements, a worldwide trend that focuses on a conscious use of durable, sustainable and high-quality materials in artisanal processes.
The living and dining room collage with a small iron stove is colourful without being loud and minimal without feeling cold. A large yellow carpet and walls in a soft grey-green set the scene. Furniture classics by Charles & Ray Eames and Alvar Aalto are combined with contemporary designs by Jasper Morrison and Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. Solid oak and pine, linen and wool fabrics, ceramics, different coloured cushions and carefully selected objects create a serene and inviting atmosphere.
