The La Fonda Armchair, designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1961, is now available as an office swivel chair, on a bench beam and in vinyl. The PLACC (Pivot La Fonda Armchair Cast Base on Castors) variation combines the La Fonda shell with a height-adjustable five-star swivel base on castors. The frame in polished die-cast aluminium positions the chair in the boundary zone between domestic and office furniture and opens up a wide range of applications. This hybrid character is reinforced by the many colour options for the upholstery covers in either “Hopsak” fabric or “Valencia” vinyl. For waiting areas, La Fonda is available on a bench beam, with two to five seat shells mounted onto a supporting bar.
